Our eyes are often bigger than our stomachs. Take Thanksgiving, for example. The combinations of aromas draws us in, turkey, stuffing, crescent rolls, ham, green beans, macaroni and cheese, cupcakes... all ours for the taking. By the time we grab a plate, we are either starving, grabbing anything that looks good, or we are already at our 2nd house of the day, and even if we aren't hungry, we load up a plate anyway. The end result in each scenario is wasted food and an overly full stomach; enter turkey induced coma.
Our eyes are also bigger than our stomachs when it comes to planning. We want it all; we want to wake up at 4:30am every morning to meditate, write in our gratitude journal, workout, shower, listen to a podcast, call mom, be more productive at work... the list goes on, and we haven't even made it past noon! It's way easier to think of all the things you "should do" or "want to do" than it is to actually complete them, which is why it can be so tempting to write out never e...
Things need to happen before they can actually happen.
Take a lottery winner for example. When they find out they have the winning number sequence, everything changes before anything actually changes.
They start to feel excited. They start to feel grateful. They start to think about how and what they are going to spend their money on. They feel the feelings before reality has time to catch up, but they know it will. They take the wish as granted, no matter how long it takes to come to fruition.
Another example is seeds. You don't see a sprout the same day you plan a seed. In fact, for a while it can look like nothing is happening at all. But you keep watering the plant, understanding that good things take time, and you give that soon to be plant the love, compassion and attention that it needs to grow.
How would you feel if your desire was already yours? Would you respond to your thoughts differently? Would you choose different thoughts? You can apply this concept to any area o...
I set out to release a planner on 11/1/2019. I had 99 days to make it happen. I had no idea how this was going to come about, but I was committed. If you've been following me, you know I don't have a planner… yet. The closest thing I have so far is a printable calendar library, which I launched on November 1, in line with my communicated goal.
So how do I feel knowing I didn’t even come close to doing what I set out to do? Pretty great, actually. I view my pursuit of creating a planner as a success. Now hear me out; key word: pursuit. Here is why:
I stayed in Integrity with a Promise
I told people I was going to launch a planner on November 1, so I kind of launched a planner on November 1. I stayed true to my word and delivered what I could to the best of my ability, even if it wasn't as I had originally intended or hoped. I don't have a lot of followers.. Yet. Until very recently, I'd argue there wasn't much to follow. But the people who follow me and support me now will be ...
Time isn't money; it's worth much more than that.
As Jo Wilson on Grey's Anatomy so eloquently put it, "There's always more money." She's right, you know. You can always make more money, but your time is finite. Yes, I am suggesting that money is infinite.
I know the arguments; "I have a fixed income, so I can't make more money," "I can't afford ____ because of ____" "I'll make money my top priority so that I can eventually afford to do the things I want to." "You're crazy."
Whether you think you can or can't do something, you're absolutely right - Henry Ford
I'm not suggesting you go out and spend money you don't have, but I'm suggesting you consider both time and money from a resource perspective. Think of how much money there is floating around both digitally and in print; you're telling me that the amount you're able to receive can't supersede a certain amount? There's a certain amount you can have, but never more than that? I ain't buying.
Now time on the other hand, is fix...
Anxiety is fear based on the future and planning is the process of mapping out future events. What happens when you have a fear of everything that you have to do? A Plan-ic attack.
My greatest challenge in life is to keep my anxiety in check. I don’t necessarily fear anything specifically, but that actually causes even more anxiety; feeling so uncomfortable without a logical excuse or explanation is so incredibly difficult. I bring this up because believe me, I get it.
Decorating my planner is a sort of cathartic release for me. Planning out my days ahead of time, not so much. By identifying my own personal shortcomings with planning, I can help you address these same issues and help you build more structure into your day, sans stress.
Don’t Overcommit
We all know what happens when you overpromise and underdeliver; you get an unhappy customer. Be careful with what you say you’re going to do, especially when it comes to timeframes and deadlines. Always error on the side of somethin...
November marks the start to the holiday season; a time of gratitude, family and traditions. We all know that family, while we love them, can sometimes demand a lot from us. All that togetherness can take an emotional toll, which is why it is especially important to set proper boundaries come the holidays. With these tips, you'll forget why you even came to dread this time of year in the first place and you'll gain a better appreciation for the time you do have together.
1. Set a time limit for phone conversations; your time is valuable, and you don't need an excuse when you're ready to hang up.
I received this suggestion from a networking event I attended a few weeks ago, and I think it is such a good rule to go by. The woman said "if I'm spending more than 30 minutes on the phone, you better believe the other person is paying for my time." This may come across as harsh, but it's very true, and I find myself feeling drained with conversations any longer than 45 minutes. Conti...

On Wednesday, September 25, I am hosting my first ever event, PizzAZz Your Planner! It's a 2-hour workshop I created to teach you how to efficiently use a planner, what supplies you should buy and then we'll spend the last half hour creating original designs. If you're in the Charlotte area you should totally come, it's going to be amAZing!!! You can grab your ticket on Eventbrite: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/pizzazz-... I am on Day 13 of Arbonne's 30 days to Healthy Living Program and I feel great! I don't really have any cravings honestly and the fizz sticks are an amazing substitute for coffee and don’t stain your teeth like coffee or soda and give you a great boost of extra energy!
I had my photoshoot on Tuesday with Leandra of Leandra Creative Co and the pictures turned out amazing! She already got the edited versions back to me and I can't wait to share them with you on Social Media and to get them posted on my website! https://leandracreativeco.com/ You can ...
Week in review:
I am on day 7 of the "30 Days to Healthy Living" Cleanse program by Arbonne and I feel amazing. I have a ton of energy and I am genuinely enjoying finding healthy foods to eat. The program cuts out gluten, dairy and other known allergens to completely reset your gut and GI tract. I have never really paid any attention to what I eat because I am naturally thin, but I want to continue with the program. Sometimes it gets really hard (especially seeing your family eat pizza and you’re in the corner eating your good old rice pasta, hmm yum!) but you do it for yourself and nothing else matters than your health. So take it one step at a time, you’ll get there eventually.
Media Consumption:
Podcasts- I listened to a variety of different podcasts this week, and 3 separate ones included Marie Forleo, someone who I was told I needed to look into. Marie has a new book coming out, Everything is Figureoutable. I also listen to a lot of Gary Vee episodes and really trying to fig...
