lAZy Sunday: Blog Post Series

lazy sunday Aug 09, 2020

Sunday morning rain is (literally) falling as I type this, which makes for my favorite kind of lazy Sunday. I can sleep in, relax and start to think about my week in a way that feels more empowering and less scary.

As things pick up in my work life and with Allison Ziggy, I am starting to better structure my time, which in turn, helps me give better advice on organizing. It's a win win win!

This is going to start as a blog series, with new posts every Sunday (in line with my communicated goal of 1x post per week) based on using Sunday to plan for a successful week ahead.

In the near future we will be launching a virtual Lazy Sunday segment! So stay tuned for that :)

For week one, I figure we start with the basics- todo lists! Post to follow!

xoxo,

Allison

Full Moon Gratitude

Uncategorized Aug 03, 2020

New moons are to beginnings to what full moons are to completion.

They represent the yin and the yang; in order to bring in, you must first let go.

Full moons ask you to take an honest assessment of what is no longer serving you.

Full moons illuminate. Accentuate. Highlight.

Here are some ways you can tune in

 Complete a full moon meditation:

Here is one for this full moon specifically-

Spend Time in the Moonlight:

You can complete your meditation outside (space and weather permitting) or just go for a quick walk. You might find the energy invigorating, or it may trigger creative insights or adventures.

Charge your crystals in the full moon energy

Crystals might also find the energy invigorating. I have left them outside to charge, but more often during the full moon, I leave them on my windowsill with the blinds open to let in the moonlight. Kind of reminds me of the Swan Princess.

Make a list of what you feel grateful f...

Happy 1st Birthday, Allison Ziggy!

(Cliff Notes below :) )

HelloOoOo,

Happy Birthday, Allison Ziggy!! Today, Allison Ziggy officially turns one and I wanted to celebrate by coming live with my first video of 2020. In honor of the progress I have made as a person and as a company, I am going to outline all the major changes and upgrades I have experienced in the last 12 months.

Disclaimer:

2019 was without a shadow of a doubt, the hardest year of my life. I feel so much more developed and changed and stronger because of it, but I still shudder at the thought of the experience. It was faced with a lot of difficult challenges but I came out of the experience with so much more than I ever lost.

I guess this is just to say, if you have a dream, go for it. Allison Ziggy is what gave me life when I was at my lowest point, and I appreciate the experience of starting a company, even if it still isn’t one yet. It will be, trust me.

Without further ado, here are what I consider to be the most interesting standout poin...

New Moon, Who Dis?

My New Moon Routine

I started getting into tracking the cycles of the moon this year. It might have been a side effect of quarantine, but I find that harnessing the power of the moon actually really helps to bring manifestations into reality in a more predictable, cyclical manner.

It also helps me feel more in tune with what is going on in the universe.

It’s no secret that the moon rules the tides and humans are 70% water, so doesn’t it only make logical sense humans would also feel some sort of shift based on the moon phases, even on a subconscious level?

I know, it's still weird, but bear with me!

Think of a new moon as the start of a brand-new cycle. The ground is ripe for planting new seeds. What are you looking to bring into your life in the next 6 months?

Think not just in terms of what you are looking to receive, but also in terms of what you are looking to provide. How can you make an earnest impact in these areas in terms of helping the people around you? You know...

Sorry for Ghosting You... (Again)

Uncategorized Jul 17, 2020

Hi, remember me? LOL

Before I get into where I've been, let me first start with why I'm here.

I felt it important to write today because exactly one year ago today, on 7/17/2019 I posted a vulnerable YouTube video denouncing an average life. I set lofty expectations and started my pursuit of making my dream of Allison Ziggy into a reality.

I am going to be releasing a video on July 31, 2020, as that is Allison Ziggy's official birthday! I am going to do a video "year in review" from both a personal and a business perspective, so make sure to mark your invisible Ideal Year planner to make sure you don't miss it.

I know it's been a while.... I'm still here and Allison Ziggy is still a thing, I just needed a minute. Please don't be mad at me for not posting :(

I know I keep outwardly setting intentions and then it seems like I'm not following through on them, but in reality, this couldn't be further from the truth. I set the intentions and then the way things unfolds is completely...

QuaranTIME- New Favorite Activities

Uncategorized May 26, 2020

As more time passes, and life at a distance becomes the new normal, I've found myself incorporating new ways to keep myself excited about life. We've all been home since March by this point, meaning we have almost been in quarantine for a full season. I’d say that’s crazy, but is it? I feel like time, being relative and all, can be an incredibly unreliable unit of measure.

Being Outside

I am obsessed with spending time outside, and I spend nearly every spare minute I have either going for a walk or sitting outside in my front yard on a picnic blanket. The only con is my awful sunburn and peeling skin, but it's still totally worth it in my book.

There's a really nice park near my house with a 4-mile loop I walk at least twice a week. I would run, but I hate running, so instead I walk because it's something I actually enjoy. As someone who ran cross county for 6+ years, I can say I ran enough for the rest of my life. I found this super ridiculous walking meditation by Kelly Howell tha...

I Failed

Uncategorized May 14, 2020

If you have been waiting for the rest of my content from TV Turnoff week, bad news, because the experiment is way over and there are no more posts coming.  The truth is  that I lost interest in documenting the experiment because I lost interest in the experiment itself.

It might be quarantine, it might be my new mindfulness practice, and it might just be a coming of age thing, but I have done a tremendous amount of healing over the course of 2020, and a lesson that became clear to me last week was that sometimes quitting is an act of self-love.

Sometimes I want to watch trashy TV, and I don't need to feel bad about that, or less than. I can be interested in stupid things without being stupid myself.

xoxo,

Allison

Tuesday- Day 2.5 of TV Turnoff Week

Uncategorized May 05, 2020

I had way less cheat moments today, in fact, I hardly attempted to cheat at all. I clicked on and started to watch Ariana Grande’s Sweetener Tour on Youtube—I watched approximately 30 seconds and saved it to watch later. I found that when I was tempted to cheat I actually was reading content I had previously created, as opposed to content someone else created. I read old diary entries I wrote years ago and went through old screenshots/videos in my phone. This is a grey area, but since I created it, I say it’s ok for me to view. I think the whole point is silencing the distractions so your inner voice can speak up, and I am definitely hearing my inner voice much more clearly.

Positive Outcomes:

  1. Started to clean out craft room closet and found a pouch full of old coins! I was pretty excited about this actually. I also got rid of a bunch of stuff and started the process of cleaning out my entire craft room, which is overly cluttered.
  2. I was contacted by people who I hadn’t spoken to i

TV Turnoff Week- Quarantine Edition

Uncategorized May 04, 2020

HelloOoOo and Good Morning!

The weather is finally starting to feel like summer in New Jersey :) It makes me equal parts excited and stir crazy. To add to my stir craziness, I decided to take things up a notch in quarantine. And by I decided, it was kind of thrust upon me from the creative endeavor, The Artist's Way. I've been following the program for 4 weeks, and this week a new challenge is introduced where you aren't allowed to read for a week.

In addition to not reading, you aren't allowed to watch TV, go on social media, etc. It's kind of like a quarantine within a quarantine, right?

This reminds me of something we used to do in my elementary school called TV Turnoff Week. The idea was simple- go to an entire week without TV. As an avid rule follower, I took TV turnoff week very seriously, but as you can imagine, not everyone did. I don't think I understood the point of it then, but now more than ever, I think it's especially important to what what you're consuming in terms ...

Monday- Day 1.5 of TV Turnoff Week

Uncategorized May 04, 2020

I say day 1.5 because I technically started TV Turnoff week on Sunday, but it wasn’t documented and I started halfway through the day. I will also probably start watching. TV again come Sunday, so there's that

Cheat Moments:

  1. I watched a tarot card Youtube video and knew it was going to be my last video for the week—a final indulgence, if you will
  2. I posted on Instagram for Allison Ziggy after writing my blog post and then watched a few videos before remembering I wasn’t supposed to be consuming media
  3. I noticed myself watching stories on Instagram before remembering the people who saw me post about this little experiment could see me watching their stories aka cheating
  4. I noticed an influx in my online shopping; nothing appealed to me enough to make a purchase, but then again, it is only day 1.5
  5. I listened to Meg Thee Stallion’s Savage.. I think you can listen to music but I’m not sure if you’re allowed to listen to music with words..? Or maybe you can but only when working out?
