As more time passes, and life at a distance becomes the new normal, I've found myself incorporating new ways to keep myself excited about life. We've all been home since March by this point, meaning we have almost been in quarantine for a full season. I’d say that’s crazy, but is it? I feel like time, being relative and all, can be an incredibly unreliable unit of measure.
Being Outside
I am obsessed with spending time outside, and I spend nearly every spare minute I have either going for a walk or sitting outside in my front yard on a picnic blanket. The only con is my awful sunburn and peeling skin, but it's still totally worth it in my book.
There's a really nice park near my house with a 4-mile loop I walk at least twice a week. I would run, but I hate running, so instead I walk because it's something I actually enjoy. As someone who ran cross county for 6+ years, I can say I ran enough for the rest of my life. I found this super ridiculous walking meditation by Kelly Howell that I like to use- it's really silly and puts me in a good mood, so why not?

Meditation
Yes, I am still obsessed with meditation and I do it daily- first thing in the morning, and right before I go to bed. That's when your subconscious mind is most subject to reprogramming, so it's most efficient to listen to your affirmations at that time. I'll do a later posts on the different brain wave frequencies / the science behind why this actually is.
I just discovered Kelly Howell Brain Sync is available on Spotify, which was a total game changer! I had previously been using YouTube, but you know, commercials, so I found Spotify to be a much better way to stream. I'm already accepted the fact she's going to be one of my top artists of 2020 but whatever lol

Working Out
I broke up with Kayla Itsines' Bikini Body Guide because I could only get my hands on 6-lb dumb bells and I felt overall unmotivated to complete the program. I was stuck on week 5 for at least a month, so I wanted to find something that worked better for me. I still like stretching/yoga, but I wanted something more towards body sculpting, and I am really feeling Chloe Ting.

Her workouts are completely free, and she makes most of her money through advertising on YouTube. I am on Day 8 of her Hourglass Booty and Abs 25-day challenge. I find I do really well with challenges that span across this amount of time, and I am already seeing results after doing it for a week. I definitely miss the gym and am looking forward to getting back, but this is a great substitute in the meantime.
