I did it.Ā
I manifested my move to New York City and am writing this from my dream apartment in the West Village.Ā
From a real estate perspective it's a "duplex" but I like to think of it as my own perfect oasis in the middle of chaos. It's going to take some time for things to fully come together, but I can already say that my current apartment is my favorite place I've ever lived. It feels infused with magic somehow.Ā
Instead of writing a typical blog post, I decided to switch it up and do a Q+A style post. I incorporated all kinds of questions I have received since the move. Feel free to drop your questions in the comments if there's anything else you'd like to learn about my experience so far!
"Why New York?"
I get asked this question a lot.
Ā
Ā
Ā Ā Well first off, why not New York? Secondly, I knew this was a now or never type decision. I could haveĀ spend my entire life wondering what it would be like, or I could try it out and have the life experience.Ā
I did not move for ...
Pro tip- it is not typically advised to create, lead and participate in a 31-Day challenge the same month you start a new job and planĀ a major life move to New York City..Ā
That being said, I am so incredibly proud to present to you Alcohol FREE- The 31-day Alcohol Reset, which was created as a result of this year's Dry January Challenge.Ā
I do still drink alcohol, but I took a few months off from drinking and it helped me get clear on what actually mattered to me. It's not that I have a drinking problem or need to count the days since I last drank, but I found that taking a month off every so often when it feels right has the power and potential to uplevel your life.Ā
I combined a sober month with some of my favorite personal development tools and resources to keep you focused and moving forward over the course of 31 days.Ā
Moderation really is a key to life.Ā
There is so much magic contained within this program, especially when you consider the personal transformation I was goin...

Hi! So much has changed since Allison Ziggy was created in 2019, and I wanted to say HELLO and tell you a little bit about my journey and what I have to offer as a life coach.
š Allison Ziggy was formed on July 31, 2019- at the time, I was living in Waxhaw, NC with my Dad, working at a job I absolutely hated. I had left behind a life in Chicago that no longer served me, and I was figuring how to reinvent myself. I was at my rock bottom, and the only thing I knew for certain was that I wanted to launch a planner.
š° I hired a business coach, made business cards and started going to networking events. Once IĀ discovered the world of personal development and started exploring my spirituality, my life circumstances drastically improved.
šŖš½ It started with my health; I joined a Crossfit gym, started paying attention to food as a fuel source and I became mindful about my alcohol consumption. I became healthier, had significantly more energy and vastly decreased my anxiety

#CaturdayĀ journaling tips from two Bengal bros:
šMake your space as cozy and comfortable as possible
šStart your day by writing 3 pages of freehand writing- this counts as a form of active meditation and helps get out all the fluff before you start your day
šEnd your day by writing down 10 people/things/cats you feel grateful for
šUse a pen you love- Allison has been on a Sharpie S Gel pen kick and obviously Sakura Gelly Roll is an all time favorite
šBonus points if you sit on the journal / make it difficult for your human to write

Believe it or not, I used to get massive anxiety going into the weekends; especially weekends where I didnāt have a lot of prearranged social activities.
It was like Friday night hit, and I had no plans and no idea how I wanted to spend the next 48 hours. This usually led to a lot of sleeping, watching Netflix and doing, well, nothing.
To combat this, I started writing out a list I call āThis Weekend I Willā¦ā
Grab a blank piece of paper and make your own with me! š
Step 1ļøā£: Set up your space; light a candle, make some tea. Make it an experience!
Step 2ļøā£: On your paper, write one word to describe what you are looking to gain from this upcoming weekend. You can choose anything you want; sleep, connection, organizationā¦. Rejuvenation š
If youāre having trouble answering this right away, try asking yourself: āwhat do I want to feel at the conclusion of this weekend?ā Close your eyes and think about it for a little bit. Really sink into what you want the next 48 hours to look like.
Step 3ļøā£: Onc...
Lesson: Love Yourself
My trip ended the same way it had started- me, in a new city, alone. While the circumstances were similar, I was completely different. I had immersed myself in an entirely new culture, put myself way outside of my comfort zone, conquered my fears and witnessed incredible sights through my own two eyes.
I was humbled, grateful, and deeply moved by the experience.
My day in Milan was my version of perfect day in my own company.
I got organized and repacked my suitcase (getting organized is seriously one of my favorite things in the world), I went shopping and found everything I wanted, and I put on my sexiest outfit and took myself out to a proper last meal in Italy.
Go to Instagram for a thirst trap followed by the best eggplant parmesan of my life.
The next day, I packed my bags and headed for the airport. When I was approaching the train platform, my bag got caught in the door and broke it. It felt like Italy pulling me back in for one final embrace before sending me o...
Lesson- Change is always in your favor (if you believe it is)
On Day 7, after my friend and I had finally settled into a beautiful lakeside loft hotel in Varenna, our plans changed yet again. The hotel we were staying at only had availability for one night, and we needed to find another place to stay.
The town of Varenna was completely booked. It felt a little ridiculous that we had spent the better part of a day getting there to spend one night, but there genuinely was no other option. (I technically knew of an Airbnb with availability, but come on now š)
It felt annoying to relocate, especially after the journey I described yesterday, but after seeing what we were able to come up with under pressure, I knew things were going to work out.
We found a hotel in Bellagio, one of the more famous parts of Lake Como, packed up and left our bags in the hotel lobby to explore Varenna for a few hours.
Around 2pm we got back on a ferry (this one, thankfully, only 30 minutes) and made our way to Bella...
Lesson: The Journey is the DestinationāYouāve Already Arrived
On day 6, I migrated from Florence to Lake Como, and it was a VOYAGE.
The train from Florence to Como San Giovanni (which I thought was my final stop) takes approximately 3.5 hours, and it includes a transfer in Milan.
I was meeting up with my friend Jessica, who texted me when I was about a half hour away.
āDude we need to get on another train for 2 hoursāwe booked our tickets for the wrong station. We need to go to Varenna.ā I kind of started to melt down. Time is so precious when you travel and 2 hours on another train felt gut wrenching. I wanted to experience Italy!
After further research, we found that we could take a ferry that got us to Lake Como if we hustled. Before concluding the ferry was our best option, we tried everything to avoid it altogether. It felt like such an inconvenienceāwe just wanted to arrive already!
Little did we know, the ferry turned out to be one of the most incredible parts of the trip. For 10 euro...
