Why I Meditate
Meditation saved my life.
It allows me to live medication free.
It provides me with a point of self-connection regardless of what is going on in the world.
It is a real time “pause button” when life feels overwhelming or scary.
It took me about 6 months to start taking meditation seriously when I first attempted it in 2019. At first, I was too anxious to sit still, but I kept hearing the teachers and people I looked up to talk about its effectiveness. I kept trying.
It finally clicked for me around July of 2019; I have meditated every single day since.
Sitting in silence might not work for you and that's ok! Here are some of my favorite techniques:
Walking in silence / without headphones
Sleep Meditation
Sitting outside in the grass (or in any form of nature)
Guided Meditation upon waking up
Mantra based meditation
Meditating with a friend
Journaling
Breathwork
Dancing
Running
If you are struggling in any way whatsoever, give it a shot. Start with 5 minutes.
Please send me a DM if you have any questions; I am here for support.
I am also hosting a free meditation on Friday, July 1 at 12pm EST. I would love it if you joined me.
