Happy Friday <3
I am writing to you from my favorite place to create- Amtrak.
It’s weird, I LOVE travel and have such a wandering soul, but this winter I’ve just wanted to hibernate. I think there can be tendency towards self-isolation when you are going through something, and as I’ve navigated the transition out of corporate and into the role of a full-time business owner, I’ve become increasingly protective of my own energy.
This is part of what inspired me to focus on working with people who are done doing it all on their own, because I can attest firsthand that it takes way longer and does not work lol.
I’m finally starting to emerge, as creatures do after a long winter. I’m not fully there yet, but let’s just say the ice is thinning and hiring a coach has really helped me in my own way.
These past few months, in hibernation, I was incredibly regimented with my routine; going to the gym every single day and writing 3 morning pages in my journal daily in particular. After traveling this past week, I found myself rebelling against my routine, and I *gasp* only wrote 1.5 pages yesterday instead of 3 and skipped the workout 2 days in a row.
Dare I say that this was in and of itself an act of self love?
After getting acupuncture on Vday, my ankle literally told me to say “thank you” to the practitioner.. I’m not joking. I said, “My ankle wants me to tell you ‘thank you’” LOL.
I sprained it back in June of last year and the relief I felt was tremendous this week, which made me want to rest instead of immediately taking it back to the gym, so here we are.
I rolled my eyes at the fact that I feel the most intense relief in my back as well, only to be sleep on a couch for the next 3 days. But you know what? We can always heal. Life is about experience, and I am so excited to see my sister and friends this weekend in Philly, a city that helped make me who I am. Plus her couch really isn’t all that bad.
This is simply a love note to say.. I hope you’re having a fabulous day. It’s ok to go easy on yourself. Sometimes slowing down is what is needed to speed up later. I also listened a few songs on JLo’s new album and I love how unapologetically in love she is.
I think being unapologetic is one of the most inspiring things you can be in this life.. and unapologetically in love? That’s the dream right there.
Have a great weekend.
Xoxo.
